PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene)

Features:
  • PCTFE, combines physical and mechanical properties, non flammability, chemical resistance, near-zero moisture absorption and excellent electrical properties not found in any other thermoplastic fluoropolymer that also performs well in a temperature range of -400° F to 400° F. PCTFE also has high compressive strength, an exceptional resistance to cold flow and is optically transparent. Because PCTFE is a highly fluorinated resin, it is nonflammable and resists most corrosive chemicals.

Preferred Fields:
Cryogenic and chemical processing components, seals and gaskets, aerospace valve seats, pump parts, impellers, diaphragms, and plugs. Laboratory instruments, nuclear service/high radiation exposure, liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen valve linings.

Characteristics:

  • Dimensionally stable, rigid, and resistant to cold flow
  • Very low gas permeation and outgassing
  • Near zero moisture absorbtion
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • High compression strength
  • Low deformation under load
  • Non-flammable
  • Temperature range: -400° to 380°F
  • Radiation Resistance
